Lucy
or Dinknesh, meaning, you are
beautiful is the common name of the nearly complete Skeleton
of an Australopithecus afarensis specimen discovered in 1974
at Hadar in the Awash vally of Ethiopia Afar depression.
Lucy is estimated to have lived 3.2 million years ago.
Though in 2009 it was announced that a new huminid Ardi was
found (19 94), pushing back the earliest known huminid date
to 4.4 million years ago
